In a Moment

Memories.
Isn't it funny how a moment can remind your of a memory. One that at the time made you smile, but now, it stings. Even if just for a moment. Even if your completely over it, truly, completely over it. It catches you off guard and your heart hurts a little. It quickly fades, and then you can laugh about it. Smile as you think of the person you once loved, or thought you loved, or thought you could one day love, and know that waiting, just out of sight, is someone who will make you feel once again the way you did in that moment.
The heart is a funny thing. How quickly it can go from one emotion to the next. How long it can hold on to a memory yet let go of the person.
