Who Are We Fooling

Have you heard Brooke Fraser's new album?
If you answered "yes" you have experienced pure musical bliss. If you answered "no". I'm sorry. It's wonderful.
This song is haunting. It's beautiful. Enjoy.

Day 9 of 30 Days of Me

day 9- something you're proud of in the past few days

Well, the past few days have been a bit of a emotional roller coaster for me.
- I think I am proud of finally having conversations that needed to be had years ago, in more than one situation.
- I am proud of admitting some doubts and struggles I am currently dealing with.
- I'm proud of talking about them.
- I'm proud of opening up about things and not trying to hold it all inside anymore.
- I'm proud of stepping out of my comfort zone and doing things I wouldn't dream of doing even a year ago.

NEEWWW YOOORRRKKK

This weekend was my mom's 50th birthday and my dad got her a sweet gift! He is taking her to New York to see Phantom of the Opera on Broadway. And guess what???

I GET TO GO TOO!! I am beyond excited. I have always wanted to go to New York, I have a feeling I'll love it. We are going in December so that also means it will be all decorated for Christmas. AHH!! It's going to be beautiful. I'm so excited
So December 4th.
Come Quickly!

Day 8 of 30 Days of Me

short term goals for this month and why:

1. Find a job. I have to find a job and soon. Money is quickly running out and the stress is quickly building up. So if you would like to join me in prayer that this will be the week I find one, that would be great!

2. Eat better and work out. I know everyone says this, but I'm for real. I am tired of eating crap and getting more and more out of shape. I am going to make goals and meet them.

3. Use my camera more. I have this wonderful expensive camera that I have gotten out of practice using and I miss it. I miss capturing moments.

If I Could Do It Again...

“If I had my life to live over again, I’d try to make more mistakes next time.

I would relax, I would limber up, I would be sillier than I have been this trip.

I know of very few things I would take seriously.

I would take more trips. I would be crazier.

I would climb more mountains, swim more rivers, and watch more sunsets.

I would do more walking and looking.

I would eat more ice cream and less beans.

I would have more actual troubles, and fewer imaginary ones.”

-written by a Friar in a Nebraska monastery

I got this from Seth Philpotts blog you can check it out here

I know I said this last week, but this week I really mean it. I've been absent for awhile. But I'm coming back. Things might get a little personal this week, but I'll also throw in some fun light hearted posts as well. So if you have almost given up on my little blog, give it another chance, it's about to come back to life.

Home Sweet Home

I am planning on getting to go home next week. I am BEYOND excited!!
My mom is having a big birthday and I wouldn't miss it for the world.
PLUS, I miss my family like crazy and cannot wait to see them!!
A few days of home cooked meals, laughter and being able to just relax.

I'm sorry I've been so absent lately. Life is crazy and stressful and overwhelming and wonderful and fun lately. I'm at one of those places again where I can't seem to find the words to express what I am feeling. I wish I was better at it. That I could find the words that fit perfectly together. That flow and suck you in. But I'm not. When I try to write about it all I get overwhelmed and just give up.

The words will come. they always do.

Day 7 of 30 days of me

a picture of someone/something that has the biggest impact on you:

Wow, there have been so many things and people who have made huge impacts on my life. I will try to narrow it down, but it's gunna be tough.

1. My family. They have been the biggest impact on my life for sure. I have been blessed with a loving, close knit family. We all know each others' business for the most part and I wouldn't have it any other way. They have helped guide me when I couldn't see things clearly, encouraged me to chase my dreams, and molded me spiritually.

2. My Friends. See my friends post. they all have had a gigantic impact on my life.
3. Falls Creek. This place was such a huge part of who I am. Both working there and just going as a camper. Powerful place.
4. My Savior. I don't have a picture of him. But he wins the cake of things that have impacted my life. He took it, turned it upside down and has made it an adventure ever since.

5. These books:
I think these would be the top things. I know there have been trips and experiences that have had huge life changing impacts on my but we could be here for hours talking about them.

What has had the biggest impact on you?

Day 6 Of 30 Days of Me

Who is your Favorite super hero and why?

BATMAN!!!!

1. He is the ONLY "superhero" who doesn't have a power, which means he's just that much more bad ass.
2. He's mysterious
3. He's Christian Bale (yes please)

But seriously, Batman has no superpowers, he has no "now I have super powers and so I should help people" feeling. He's just awesome.
